TVXQ's single was promoted in Korea and fans are abuzz with differing opinions on whether to "buy" or "don't buy".
The release of TVXQ's single in Korea, while they are on a hiatus due to the law suit with their management company, has aroused the interest of many.
On 28 January, Melon (one of Korea's largest music websites) put up information that TVXQ have released their 29th Japanese single "BREAK OUT!" on 27 January. The lyrics are all in Japanese, and Melon even used the Japanese version of their name - "Tohoshinki" - for the promotions. The distributor was also stated as AVEX, and not SM.
TVXQ, who have not been able to release Korean music in Korea since June last year due to the law suit, have continued to follow their Japanese schedules. This latest single also achieved the number one spot on Japan's Oricon Singles Daily chart, on 27 January itself, the day of its release, and received a lot of cheers.
There was a huge response towards the single as it was really rare to see all 5 members participating in an activity together. On the 28th, there were already 145 differing opinions on Melon's website.
A portion of the comments emphasized the "boycott movement" towards SM and urged others not to buy, while others expressed "Can't we just buy to show our support?" and "I don't care, I will still buy."
TVXQ's Japanese-made single will be officially released for sale in Korea on 10 February. Taking into consideration that it's all in Japanese, there are plans to add Korean translations in.
On the other hand, TVXQ members Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong are doing musicals and individual activities respectively. U-know Yunho and Choikang Changmin are also considering future work proposals or in the midst of filming.

On the Japanese Oricon Singles Daily Charts for 26 January, the number one spot was claimed by Korean 5-member group Tohoshinki, for their single “BREAK OUT!”, which was released on 27 January.This work of Tohoshinki achieved sales of 170,000 on the first day of sales, and this could be the result of the “Exceed 500,000 Copies Plan” executed by their fans.
Tohoshinki’s new single is the OST theme song for NHK’s drama 「とめはねっ！～铃里高校书道部～」, and comes in 3 versions, including the fanclub version.
Although there was no difference in the way they released this single, their first day’s sales far exceeded their previous singles by selling 169,842 copies, and the reason for this amazing sales figure, is the unity of the fans.
Actually, even before Tohoshinki’s single was released, the fans were already reaching out within the fandom to bring the large-scale “Exceed 500,000 Copies Plan” to fruition.
As the name of the plan suggests, they aimed to exceed sales of 500,000, and Tohoshinki sold more than double the amount of singles they usually sell on the first day, and sales might continue to increase after tomorrow. What kind of changes in sales will there be?

What motivated the fans to plan the target as 500,000 copies for Tohoshinki’s latest work? There was no specific reason given on the plan’s website, so there is no way to find out the motivating force for the person who suggested it.

According to a report in ChoongAng Daily that was published in August, Tohoshinki members suffered from unfair profit division, and as a whole, if their albums “sell below 500,000, they don’t get any money. During this plan, the fans set the goal as 500,000, which could possibly mean that the fans wish that the members will not suffer this kind of treatment, and thus aim to accomplish sales of 500,000.

According to a survey done, there is a significant increase of females in their teens who are interested in Tohoshinki.Tohoshinki's new single "BREAK OUT!" went on sale on 27 January. As their sales are continuously increasing, their explanation for their latest work is highly anticipated.
In February 2004, Tohoshinki garnered recognition from their first performance in Korea, where they were presented as idol stars targetted towards the teens. With their success, they began to enter the Japanese market.
Their first Japanese single was released in April 2005. Their fabulous new song maintained on the charts for 37 weeks, and caught the interest of many Japanese Hallyu fans.
Their single "Purple Line", released in January 2008, finally claimed the number one spot on the Oricon Charts, and it sold 40,000 copies in the first week. Their participation in that year's NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen also increased their popularity. The song that they performed then, "どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう？" was also placed #11 for the yearly charts released in early 2009, with total sales exceedign 100,000.
Their single "Stand By U", released in July 2009, achieved a hit sales amount by selling over 180,000 copies within the first week of sales, and was also a representation of their immense popularity in Japan. They performed this song at the 2009 NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, and the ranking immediately jumped from #112 to #40.
Their new song "BREAK OUT!", released on 27 January 2010, is the main theme song for NHK's TV Drama 「とめはねっ！鈴里高校書道部」, which began airing on 7 January.
For the latest survey conducted, 85% indicated that they knew who Tohoshinki was, and 24.4% of them indicated that for the new song "BREAK OUT!", they were "extremely interested" or "would be interested if it was mentioned".
30.7% consisted of females. Although majority came from female teens, there was a significant number of male teens who expressed interest, and it seems like the teens in general will be interested.
Also, Tohoshinki's first best album is set to go on sale in February.

The 29th single of Korean dance-vocal group Tohoshinki, “BREAK OUT!”, sold an approximately 170,000 copies on its first day, and ranked first on Oricon’s daily chart on 1/26. While being in the middle of break-up turmoils, this is a good start that is probably going earn them first place on Oricon weekly chart for the 7th time.
The title song “BREAK OUT!”, which contains encouraging messages to young people who are trying their best, is the theme song for NHK’s drama “Tomehane! Suzuri Koukou Shodoubu”. The coupling song is Junsu’s solo “XIAHTIC”.
Tohoshinki released their single “HUG” in November 2004 to mark their first time coming to Japan, and officially debuted in Japan in April 2005 with their single “Stay With Me Tonight”. They first entered the Oricon weekly chart with their 7th single “Sky” (on sale in August 2006), which ranked 6th of that week. They have constantly been on the top 10 of the chart since then. Starting from their 18th single “Purple Line” (on sale in January 2008), they’ve had 6 singles that rank first on Oricon weekly chart, and are currently holding the record for being the only foreign artist to acquire that achievement.
They are planning to release their first best album “BEST SELECTION 2010″ on 2/17.
